Job Summary:
This Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and strategy for the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of federal, state, and international tax regulations, as well as the ability to develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position. You will lead a team of tax professionals, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tax filings and providing strategic tax planning to support the organization’s financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and international tax returns. Monitor compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax efficiency. Provide strategic advice to senior management on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
• Financial Reporting: Oversee tax accounting and reporting processes, including the preparation of tax provisions, disclosures, and supporting schedules for financial statements.
• Audit Management: Coordinate and manage tax audits, including preparation of necessary documentation and responses to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals. Ensure that team members are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to perform their duties effectively.
• Regulatory Updates: Stay current with changes in tax legislation and regulations. Evaluate the impact of these changes on the organization and adjust strategies as needed.
• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls over tax processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to provide tax guidance and support on various business initiatives and projects.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Taxation or an MBA with a focus on taxation is preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in tax roles, with a strong background in tax compliance, planning, and reporting. Experience in a managerial or supervisory role is required.
